Thankfully, the diver was able to record the amazing moment to shared it with the world.

Speaking with ViralHog, the diver explained:
"During a night dive, we found this beautiful Bobtail squid in the sand, the particularity of this animal is to hide in the sand so a predator can't see it. For me, it's one of the most beautiful sea animals we can observe at night."

The species in the video appears to be a Berry's bobtail squid (Euprymna berryi) based on its geographical location and color.
According to iNaturalist, the bobtail squid "prefers sandy or fine sediments seafloors in which it can easily bury itself in case of danger or to rest in during the day."

The nocturnal creature swims around at night, using a bioluminescent organ to produce just enough light to see without attracting predators or scaring prey away. During the day, however, the bobtail squids prefer to stay safe and sound tucked into the sand.

How cool is that?
