11-Year-Old Boy Scout Raises Money To Buy Christmas Presents For Kids In Foster Care
To that end, we also forget that what we're seeing as a problem is actually a dream for others. There is always someone who would love to be in your shoes, no matter how much you might think otherwise.
One Boy Scout did something amazing to help others who might not have as much. According to KARE11, In Cambridge, Minnesota 11-year-old Jonathan Werner took it upon himself to raise money so that he could purchase Christmas gifts for kids living in foster care.
Werner joined the scouts only nine months ago, but since joining, he has shown a very serious commitment to his service projects.
As a result, the 11-year-old worked very hard selling popcorn in order to raise enough money to buy gifts for every foster kid within two counties!
Werner proudly shared with his local KARE11 news station, "I adopted all the foster care kids in Kanabec County and Isanti County for Christmas."
While it was a very generous undertaking on his part, he opened up to explain it was actually something important to him as his own father was part of the foster care system. Young Werner stated, "My dad spent 14 years in foster care and based upon stories that he had being in foster care, it doesn't really sound like they had much of a Christmas."
