Tourist Calls For Help After Seeing Stray Senior Dog With Cardboard Home
Most of us don't give much thought to what is taking place around us when we are on vacation. We just want to enjoy our time, but there are also times when things grab our attention.
That is what one tourist in Romania experienced when she noticed a stray dog while staying at a resort. Unfortunately, stray dogs are relatively common, but this one really caught her eye.

She saw the dog sleeping on the street and realized she needed to help. That is when she got on the phone and called Howl of a Dog to report the stray. After rescuers showed up, the tourist decided to get some information.
She went to people in the area, including shop owners, and asked questions about the dog. As it turns out, she had been coming around for many years to beg for scraps.

They realized that the dog, whom they later named Helen, would have some medical problems. They took her to the veterinarian and discovered that she was suffering from a number of issues.
One of the problems is a tickborne disease known as Anaplasmosis. They also found out that Helen had been living on the streets for more than six years.

Fortunately, they were able to get her health back up again and find her a forever home.
