Filmmaker Michael Bay Slams False Reports That He Killed A Pigeon In Italy
Filmmaker Michael Bay is venomously slamming false reports circulating that he's being charged in the death of a pigeon.
Bay has been a filmmaker for decades, working on movies like the Transformers and Pearl Harbor.

Recently, he directed a movie in Italy and is now facing some serious rumors regarding the death of a pigeon on set.
According to Variety, Bay was falsely accused of killing the bird while producing the Netflix movie 6 Underground in Rome.

A Hollywood trade publication called The Wrap allegedly released a false report claiming Bay was charged with killing a homing pigeon on a dolly during a take.
Under the Birds Directive, pigeons are protected in both Italy and in the European Union. Per the law, it is illegal to "kill, trap or trade" them.

The Wrap reports that an anonymous individual reported Bay to the police after allegedly witnessing the incident. However, Bay denies the allegations and says they're false and further says he was never charged with killing a pigeon.
Speaking with The Wrap, Bay said: "I am a well-known animal lover and major animal activist. No animal involved in the production was injured or harmed. Or on any other production I’ve worked on in the past 30 years."
According to Variety, Bay's attorney has issued a legal letter to The Wrap, demanding a retraction or correction for "false, reckless and defamatory" statements.
