Morocho The Dog Saves Young Girl From A Puma Attack

Every once in a while, however, a dog may have an opportunity to become a hero in a very special way, and that is what happened with Morocho.

Moracho lives in Argentina with his human family. As a special breed known as a Dogo Argentina, he is large and muscular. He also has a beautiful white coat and loves his family very much.
Although he was a loving dog, he also was very powerful. According to the American Kennel Club, this breed of dog was known for hunting wild boars, so they can stand up to some tough situations.
The dog's family is now very familiar with exactly what Morocho is able to do. According to Virolico, he was out with his family on a farm back in 2008, when a situation came up for this dog to prove that he was truly a hero.

Morocho was playing with the family's daughter, Sofie and one of her little friends. They were near a fig tree on the property where they were gathering fittings, and they had climbed up into the tree to reach some things that were up high.
There was a problem, however, there was a puma in the tree and nobody saw it until they were already up there. When the little girl saw the animal, which is sometimes called a cougar or mountain lion, she was really frightened.
According to dogo4u.blogspot, "When Yoli was about 7 feet from the ground, she started hearing noises up on the tree, like branches tweaking and leaves moving. She looked up and saw a BIG puma jumping down the upper branches."

After the animal had already struck the child with its paw, she fell to the ground on her back from about 6 feet in the air. Thankfully, the parents were there to grab the girl and run, but the puma was following closely behind.
That is when Morocho jumped into action. He ran straight for the cougar and attacked it. At first, the father thought that it may have been a snake so he came running as fast as he could. When he got there, the dog was badly injured, but the cougar was dead.

It took 10 days and a lot of TLC for Morocho to get back in shape again. Obviously, they now had a new hero in their lives because they not only had a companion, they had a protector.
