OnePoll conducted a poll of 2,000 cat and dog owners on behalf of ACANA Pet Food and discovered that many pet owners shamelessly admit to being obsessed with their pets.
According to the Longview News-Journal, of the people polled, nearly half are considering getting a tattoo of their pet(s). What's more is 16% of those polled already have a pet-themed tattoo on their body!

It takes a lot of commitment to have your furry friend permanently memorialized on your skin, but it's something many people are willing to do.
Beyond tattoos, pet owners also were found to have likenesses of their furry friends in their homes or on their clothes, and 31% said they use their pets as icebreakers in conversation.
What might surprise some people is that more than half of pet owners (55%) admit to having conversations with their pet(s) when no one else is around. Beyond that, 48% said they've told their pet a secret that they've never told anyone else!

The survey also revealed the majority of pet owners believe they're more obsessed with their pets when compared to other pet owners.
According to Longview New-Journal, ACANA's Brand Manager, Kirsten Mundorff, said: "If there's one thing the internet has taught us, it's that people are obsessed with seeing and sharing cute animals with each other. The popularity of animal influencers proves that pet obsession is incredibly common, even if you dont' actually own a pet – although it certainly helps!"
