This Puppy’s Transformation Shocked His Family, Yet They Love Him Unconditionally
Dogs are more than their adorable physical features. It’s still part of the reason why people adopt one, but real pet parents will look past that. Being a fur lover means you accept them for who they are — giving them the unconditional love they deserve. It’s saddening when a family rejects a puppy when it has special needs or “ugly” physical traits. That mindset isn’t something a pet parent should have because dogs aren’t just for display. Puppies are in search of a forever home that has consistency and security. Dogs feel emotions, too — rejection can break their heart. It’s not their fault if they cannot meet your expectations. Those who genuinely care will give them a home regardless of how they look until old age.

Thankfully, Mugsy, the white lab, found the right family for him. He definitely shocked his family as he gradually transformed into an adult dog. Twelve years ago, he was a cute puppy that got adopted by Carly’s family when she was 10 years old. “We went to Petco one day, they had a rescue event going on, and Mugsy was the only dog there. I was only 10 years old at that time. He was so beautiful. He was pure white, and he had bright blue eyes; he was sleeping all curled up. We ended up adopting him on the spot,” Carly shared. However, Mugsy now looks far from how Carly described him when he was a puppy. She’d often hear that their dog has a face that only a mother could love. He now has big bulging eyes and an underbite.

Despite all those changes, the family ignored such comments and still showered Mugsy with affection. Carly mentioned that they found his sister, who looks similar to him, but both are beautiful in their own way. They are unsure of the reason for the puppy’s sudden transformation, but they also found out that he has a health complication. “He is on a special diet. He was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so he had trouble losing weight. Ever since we’ve gotten him on the pills and fixed his diet, he’s been really great,” Carly explained.
You cannot deny the love the fur mom has for Mugsy because she talks about him most lovingly. She acknowledges his personality and how affectionate he can get. Mugsy’s personality certainly outshines his facial features — he’ll easily win your heart. For this reason, the family is willing to do anything to provide him with a comfortable life. Carly is also very protective of him and she ensures that when people talk to him, they are on their best behavior. She’ll do everything for Mugsy, who knows how to make her smile and reciprocates her love. A lot of people have fallen in love with the white lab, and he’ll surely catch your interest as well.
