Woman Saves Feral Cat From Coyotes, Cat Eventually Trusts Her Enough to Move In
Guest Contributor
My feral showed up one day. I would feed her, but she waited until I went back into the house before coming over to the dish. Slowly, she let me stay and talk to her, but I could not touch her.
PHOTO: HOLLY STARONOne day, two coyotes had her up our tree, and I went out there with a baseball bat and chased them away. That evening as I put her dish down, she licked my hand!
It took a while, but she eventually ventured onto the house, and my cat Gizmo showed her how to be a house cat: what a lap was for and how to play with cat toys.
She ended up sleeping on my bed for the next 10 years and we recently had to put her down due to health issues. I held her when she passed, and Gizmo and I miss her dearly.
