Cat Comforts Her Human As She Deals with Breast Cancer and Her Husband's Death

Lola is amazing and so loving.
PHOTO: JUDITH TAYLORIn 2019 when I was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer, Lola did not leave my side; she was especially close to me after my chemotherapy treatments and after my mastectomy.
She was close to my husband, too. He passed away in January, and Lola and I are even closer. She licks my tears when I cry, missing my husband, and sleeps in my lap and next to me in bed.

I read out loud to her sometimes and she seems to listen. Having Lola is like having a therapy cat. She is comforting, understanding and loving. My life would definitely be very empty without Lola. I’m very lucky and grateful to have her in my life.
