3D Animation Compares The Size Of Tornados
Malorie Thompson
The popular YouTube channel RED SIDE shared a video comparing the size of tornados and it's really interesting to watch!

The 3D animation compares dust devils, fire whirls, steam twisters, and typical cyclones.
They're all measured along each level of The Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF Scale), along with being compared against some of the most devastating tornados in history.

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado is a "violently rotating column of air touching the ground, usually attached to the base of a thunderstorm."
They're classified as "nature's most violent storms." The National Weather Service explains, "Spawned from powerful thunderstorms, tornadoes can cause fatalities and devastate a neighborhood in seconds. Winds of a tornado may reach 300 miles per hour. Damage paths can be in excess of one mile wide and 50 miles long."

Of course, not all tornados are created equally, as you'll see in the comparison video. One thing is sure though, it doesn't matter how big or small a tornado is, it's something we'd like to stay far away from!
You can see the tornado comparison for yourself in the video below:
