Woman Rescues Ducks That Were Dumped In A Lake And Carries Them To A Pond Every Day
When Annette started rescuing cats, she never planned on expanding her rescue efforts to birds as well. However, life had other plans and when a duck came to her in need, she couldn't turn it away.
Annette shared her story with GeoBeats Animals, saying that much of her days are consumed with her two ducks, Cleopatra and Henrietta.

Cleo can't walk well, so Annette walks her to and from the pond throughout the day. Annette shared with GeoBeats Animals that the ducks spend around two hours playing in the pond.
Cleopatra reportedly followed Annette's dad home from a lake one day. It seems someone had her as a pet and dumped her in the lake when they no longer wanted her. The dad wasn't sure what to do with the duck, so he brought it to Annette.

Speaking with GeoBeats Animals, she said:
"I almost cried when I saw her because I was so stressed out with my rescue animals and someone was leaving me with an animal that I knew nothing about. She had separation anxiety. She was always very upset when you would leave her alone. I had to take her everywhere I went."

Annette eventually decided to find Cleopatra a friend and that's where Henrietta came in, a fellow rescue duck that'd been dumped in a lake. The two ducks immediately hit things off and became fast friends.
Sadly, Cleo suffers from a vitamin deficiency from birth that's caused her difficulty walking. Her condition is getting progressively worse, but Annette caters to her lack of mobility.

Annette took to Instagram to share:
"For those who don't know, every morning my rescue ducks Henrietta and Cleopatra (who were dumped at public ponds) walk to their pond and return every afternoon before sunset. Unfortunately Celopatra has a condition that is progressively making her disabled, so she needs to spend as little time on her legs as possible. So she gets carried where she needs to go most of the time, and Henrietta seems to be happy to not have to slow down for her anymore."
