It's no secret that health care in America has become difficult for the average person to obtain. People are dying in hospital waiting rooms, families mortgage their homes to afford cancer treatments, and the homeless are being forgotten altogether. As if that isn't bad enough, prescription drugs are becoming increasingly hard to afford.

Because health insurance is still difficult to sustain financially, many are going without their necessary prescriptions.

The Affordable Access to Prescription Medications Act (S. 1630) would make prescription medications more affordable and accessible under a wide range of health care plans. It would establish a cap on prescription drug costs, create an exceptions process for specialty drugs, and require studies on discrimination and cost-sharing.
