Overfishing and the Gulf Oil Spill have severely depleted the bluefin tuna population. Take action!
Bluefin tuna stocks are being decimated due to the implications of the recent oil spill and to severe overfishing that's taking place in the Gulf of Mexico. One of the most sought-after fish in the oceans, the bluefin tuna now faces extinction mainly because of poor management of tuna fisheries. And with millions of gallons of oil now leaking into the Gulf each day, tuna populations face an extremely uphill climb back to safe levels.
**Sign the petition below asking the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to act quickly, especially in light of the recent events in the Gulf of Mexico, and allocate more resources to help replenish the precious bluefin tuna population.**
