BPA is a chemical that's being used in children's products, but it's been known to cause serious health problems. Take action!
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a harmful chemical that is found in several types of children's products such as baby bottles and formula packaging. BPA has been known to negatively affect fetal and infant brain development. It's also said to interfere with memory and the brain's basic learning processes, and has been linked to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
With all of the serious health risks BPA presents, why is it still being used in children's food and toy products? There are perfectly safe alternatives to BPA, yet manufacturers continue to use the chemical. Our children are in danger. **Write to Margaret Hamburg, commissioner of food and drugs, asking her to support the BPA-Free Kids Act of 2009 (S. 753). If passed, S. 753 would prohibit the sale of children's food products that contain BPA.**
