If you're not buying turkeys that are Certified Humane®, there's no telling where that turkey came from or what it might have been fed. This means that by eating the turkey, you could be exposing yourself to all types of harmful bacteria. The only way to know that you're eating healthy meat is by buying Certified Humane® animal products.

Certified Humane® turkeys are raised in pens with plenty of space to move around and given healthy foods without hormones or antibiotics. They're able to flap their wings and aren't ever kept in cages.

However, the Certified Humane® stamp isn't required by most grocery stores. **Sign the petition asking Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Margaret A. Hamburg to work toward requiring turkeys to be Certified Humane® so that our animals will live better lives and humans won't be exposed to harmful substances from improperly raised animals.**
