**\*\*June 25, 2010: The International Whaling Commission's proposal to legalize commercial whaling has failed. Thank you to all who signed the petition and helped spare our whales!**

A ban on commercial whaling has proven to help increase the world's whale population, yet the US recently supported an agreement that will remove part of the ban and effectively allow Japan, Iceland, and Norway to begin whaling again. They employ violent and inhumane techniques to kill these beautiful creatures.

Don't support this proposal to kill more innocent whales. We need to do everything we can to preserve this already dwindling population. **Sign the petition asking President Barack Obama to renounce his decision and do all he can to prohibit more unjustified whale deaths.**
