Tell the EPA: Close This Harmful Pollution Loophole

America's ground-level ozone — also known as smog — problem is growing. The oil and gas industry is the largest industrial source of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that create this dangerous pollution. And now, according to the American Lung Association’s latest "State of the Air" report, air quality is going down in some areas with substantial drilling activities.

Like people, pets can develop a wide variety of chronic ailments when they breathe bad air — they wheeze and cough and find it difficult to breathe. Veterinarians have been noting the negative impact polluted air has on dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and other pets for decades. Research backs them up.

The EPA has taken a big step forward in tackling this pollution, finalizing critical guidelines for areas with the worst of it — but EPA has not yet taken action on sources that account for 7 out of 10 wells in these areas.

**Take action: Tell the EPA all wells producing this dangerous pollution need to be addressed to protect people, pets, & the planet!**
