It's Time To Stop Child Labor In India

Ask India's president to make sure that no more of India's children are forced into manual labor.
Everyone can agree: young children do not belong in fields, factories, or mines performing manual labor. But in India, some children as young as eight years old are forced to work in dark, dangerous coal mines. They work amidst life-threatening conditions and most often aren't even given protective wear.
It's no secret that mining is a dangerous job, and children simply aren't the ones to do it. If injured, conditions in India sometimes make it impossible for these kids to get the treatment they need. Many are gravely hurt or die from mining accidents.
These injustices occur because there are certain tribal laws that allow child labor and trump national legislation.
**Write to The Honorable Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to outlaw child labor everywhere in India.**
