We, the undersigned, call upon the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to take immediate and comprehensive action in response to SpaceX's repeated environmental violations in Texas, as well as to launch further investigations into the full scope of damage caused. Given that SpaceX's activities at its Boca Chica launch site have involved unauthorized wastewater discharges, mercury contamination, and harm to the local ecosystem, it is essential that TCEQ examines these violations with utmost seriousness. If necessary, we ask that criminal charges be considered to address violations of environmental laws and regulations.

The protection of Texas's wetlands, coastal waters, and vulnerable wildlife is essential to preserving our state's ecological health and public wellbeing. SpaceX's unauthorized pollution of waters near its launch facility poses a serious threat to the coastal ecosystem, endangering local wildlife, including protected and migratory species, and compromising the natural resources that Texans rely on. The harmful discharge of contaminants such as mercury not only violates environmental standards but jeopardizes the intricate balance that supports diverse habitats along the Texas coast.
