Congress is trying to cut yet another vital service that is aimed toward combating veteran homelessness. The proposed cuts would affect the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the VA's Supported Housing voucher program — two programs that currently help veterans find and stay in homes.

While our leaders are attempting to cut spending and save money, Congress is neglecting to consider that the cost of veteran homelessness will exponentially overshadow the savings garnered from cutting programs. These proposals are extremely shortsighted.

Though we in America need to find ways to save, taking money away from the health and well being of our veterans is an unacceptable way to do it. **Write to U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan asking him to oppose these cuts and fight against those proposing them on behalf of our veterans.**
