About Hazel
This adorable pup was found abandoned in a school yard, emaciated, and unable to bear weight on her left leg. Cooper's Chance Animal Rescue took her in and straight to a vet exam. There, x-rays showed her left femur displaced from her pelvis socket, a terribly painful injury consistent with abuse. Hazel also tested positive for giardia, an intestinal infection, and parasites. This little pup was in very poor shape.
Sweet Hazel was rushed into surgery, then given antibiotics for the infection and treatment for the giardia and parasites. Surgery was successful, and now Hazel is on the long road to recovery -- weeks of crate rest followed by swim therapy to regain strength and range of motion in her leg. Through it all, this adorable pup has been silly, playful, and curious -- she will be a wonderful companion for a lucky family once she is healed! Cooper’s Chance is here to lend a helping paw for as long as she needs it.
