The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Animal Resource Center provides many resources to the public and animals of Chatham County. The ARC Shelter provides necessary medical care, vaccinations, enrichment, and alteration for shelter animals and has many wonderful animals available for adoption! The ARC works hard to reunite owners with lost pets. The ARC also provides resources for affordable spay/neuter, works with fosters and rescues to help animals get adopted. We help animals find their furever home and help you find your new best friend.

Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site are joining NBC and Telemundo stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign to support shelters and rescues across the country by encouraging individuals to donate funds to help animal welfare groups with the most critical needs.
Each summer, shelters and rescues face an added stress on their resources from increases in puppy and kitten intakes due to spring litters. In 2022 shelters are reporting higher than normal intake rates, with unprecedented overpopulation in some areas. They need you now.
