The Humane Rescue Alliance’s (HRA) mission is to protect animals, support families, and advocate for positive change to create a world where all animals thrive. Our goal is to enrich the humanity of our communities by promoting compassion and encouraging people to find joy, comfort, and companionship through the love and appreciation of animals. HRA provides a full range of services, including community programs that serve families without resources, survivors of domestic violence, and school children; affordable veterinary care; sheltering and adoptions; Animal Care and Control; and Humane Law Enforcement to the residents of the District. We also serve as a valuable resource and adoption facility for our entire region of more than six million people.
