The HSYC is the only shelter in Young County. Last year we took in over 1000 cats and dogs. We do our best to provide not only basic care like food, water and shelter, but also to provide mental enrichment like novel scents, toys, and treat games for dogs and scratchers, climbing opportunities and toys for cats. We appreciate any donations to help us with these goals, as well as helping with our vet bills and bills for medicines like vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, etc.

Each summer, shelters and rescues face an added stress on their resources from increases in puppy and kitten intakes due to spring litters. In 2022 shelters are reporting higher than normal intake rates, with unprecedented overpopulation in some areas. They need you now.
