The Hernando County SPCA is a private Non-Profit organization whose mission is to shelter, spay/neuter and re-home as many cats and dogs in need as we can. Our shelter has a No Kill policy which means that all sheltered pets processed into our facility are safe from being euthanized. If we do not find the perfect forever family for them, they will live with us for the rest of their natural life.

Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site are joining NBC and Telemundo stations’ Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign to support shelters and rescues across the country by encouraging individuals to donate funds to help animal welfare groups with the most critical needs.
Each summer, shelters and rescues face an added stress on their resources from increases in puppy and kitten intakes due to spring litters. In 2022 shelters are reporting higher than normal intake rates, with unprecedented overpopulation in some areas. They need you now.
